I am glad you stopped by. Thank you for your interest in my work.

I have sold almost fifty short stories and articles to professional and semi-professional magazines. My first science fiction novel, FEVREBLAU, was published by Five Star Press in 2005 and sold out its first print run.  FEVREBLAU can still be found in used bookstores, online dealers and libraries. Or maybe you can borrow a copy from a friend!

I am currently working on short stories, particularly my dark fantasy Westerns set in the mythical town of Haxan, New Mexico, along with other tales of speculative fiction.

I attend as many science fiction conventions as I can every year. This information can be found in my News section. I am always happy to meet new writers and readers of all kinds of fiction so feel free to drop by and say hello!

I sold my science fiction story "To Stand with Kings" to Zero Gravity!

I have sold another Haxan story, "Vengeance is Mine" to the Beauty Has Her Way anthology! I will let you know the publication date when I get word.

I've got some big news on the writing front. I sold a new Haxan story entitled "Phaedra" to Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine! I'll let you know the publication date so you can pick up a copy. I'm really excited about this sale!

My Haxan story "Till Death Do Us Part" was nominated for the 2010 Million Writers Award! I am very happy about this nomination and wanted to share the news with you. :)

 Zero Gravity is a new anthology from Pill Hill Press that offers thirteen stories set in the cold vacuum of space. My story "To Stand Among Kings" is among them. Please, order a copy, and I really hope you like my story and the anthology.  :)

Destination: Future has been published by Hadley Rille books with my story "Rubber Monkeys" included.  The cover is by Ed Norden and the anthology is now available at   Amazon  Barnes & Noble  and Powell's.

Publisher's Weekly gave it a starred review and called it an "...exceptional science fiction anthology."  So far the reviews for this anthology have been very positive!

Writing Rules

 1. TELL A GOOD STORY. This should be self-explanatory. Sadly, for many new writers, and quite a few who should know better, this is a perpetual stumbling block.

2. TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS. Put more simply, write what you feel and don’t be afraid to take chances with your fiction. ‘Nuff said!

3. PERSEVERE. You must have the courage to fail if you want to be successful in anything. Remember, the unsold story is the unread story. I know, sometimes it’s like banging your head against a brick wall. Trust me, I’ve been there. But don’t give up. There are a LOT of writers out there who are getting published, and I’m willing to bet they have less talent than you do.They're successful because they keep submitting and never quit. You should do the same.
